  While driving to the Brevard Racquet Club, I watched the renovations for quite a few months, and was excited to try Lola's Old Hickory House as soon as it opened.
  Finally, it opened. I went for lunch. When I entered the restaurant, I saw a sign directing diners to order at the counter. I went to the counter, and I waited....and waited....and waited. I saw a woman stirring food in trays, but she never looked at me nor said a word. A man in an apron sauntered out of the kitchen, and spoke to the woman, but neither made eye contact, greeted me, told me someone would be with me....nothing. I waited a few minutes longer thinking a host might appear, but nothing. No host, manager, wait person acknowledged me...and it wasn't overly busy. It was 1:30.
  So, finally, frustrated and embarrassed, I left.
  I tried calling to see if there was someone I could talk to, but the listed numbers didn't work. Hmmmm. I guess service is not a priority.
  I come from a great restaurant city. And, each place, from the smallest diner to the fanciest eatery, greets customers. I wonder if Lola's will last with such dismal service.
  I will not go back.

  It's almost like cafeteria style ordering where you order Sr one point and the pick up at the end of the line. I ordered the pulled pork with collards and macaroni and cheese. It was amazing. My plate was ready and waiting almost as quick as my order was taken. I also ordered banana pudding to go. It was amazing... The atmosphere is cozy and this place has a quaint country rustic charm about it.. The offer daily specials. Friday is chicken and broccoli caserole..

  Great place for southern style home cookin'. You get your food quickly, the staff is friendly, the portions are just right. Can't wait till they open it up for dinner, cause we can walk home from there!
